Recently, the development of a qualitative evidence synthesis methodology has attracted considerable research attention in the fields of evidence-based healthcare and evidence-informed health policy decision-making. This study aims to provide an overview of qualitative evidence synthesis methods including formulating research questions, searching for qua litative studies, quality assessments, data extraction, various qualitative evidence synthesis methods, and reporting standards of qualitative evidence synthesis. Along with quantitative evidence synthesis, qualitative evidence synthesis is expected to facilitate the development and implementation of context-specific programs and policies reflecting patient experiences and preferences.
